Dear residents,
The developers of the Nest, a proposed 34 high storey tower block on Bridges Court Road, right next to the Heliport have recently submitted a revised planning application.
The revisions focus on two architectural elements:
- Replacement of open balconies with winter gardens
- Alterations to the crown design (i.e: the top section of the tower)
You can see full details of the application here: Nest planning Application. The case number is 2025/0907
This doesn’t change our fundamental objections to the development:
- Too High – the proposed height of the tower is almost double the size of all surrounding buildings
- Loss of light and privacy – loss of natural light and privacy concerns for many neighbouring residents
- Not safe – safety fears given the proximity of such a large tower to the Heliport
- Noise and Disruption – there have already been lots of building works in the area which has caused noise and disruption to local residents
- Transport issues – Bridges Court Road is already congested, the development will make this worse. In addition, we have concerns about the impact on local services (e.g: local bus routes like the 170).
We believe the developers should go back to the drawing board – and put together a new scheme, more commensurate with the needs of the local area and with more tangible benefits for local residents.
If you agree with us, please do sign our new petition below and tell your neighbours about it.
Last year’s response to the Glassmill proposal, with the application refused by the planning committee in the face of extensive public opposition, shows just how much can be achieved when residents stand together and make their voices heard.
Best wishes
Councillor Caroline de La Soujeole, Tom Horrobin, Zarah Wiles
