We, the undersigned, urge Wandsworth Council to adress the excessive noise caused by loud vehicles on Nine Elms Lane by
1. Committing to take enforcement action against excessively loud
vehicles in the Nine Elms on an ongoing basis using acoustic cameras and any other available means.
2. Committing funding from Community Infrastructure Levy funds raised in the regeneration area (which were previously ringfenced for Nine Elms until recently) to a project to install and run acoustic cameras on Nine Elms Lane.
3. Scoping out where acoustic cameras on the stretch of Nine Elms Lane between the Battersea Power Station station and Vauxhall can be placed, to be completed by the end of Q1 2025.
4. Installing and running the acoustic cameras.
5.Evaluating how effective acoustic cameras - and associated enforcement action - are during the first six months from their installation, and reporting the outcome of the evaluation to the Council’s Transport Committee.
