Cllr Matt Corner
Matt has lived in Battersea for the last seven years. He previously stood for election as a councillor in the area in 2018, before standing and winning in both 2022 and 2026, and is committed to championing the Nine Elms community.
Matt currently works as a management consultant, and wants to use his experience to support businesses and individuals in Wandsworth. His work has involved advising NHS and local council leaders on how to deliver the best possible services for local people while ensuring value for money.
He was previously a secondary school maths teacher, and is now chair of trustees of an education charity that has been providing free tutoring for hundreds of disadvantaged children across London during the pandemic. Matt is passionate about making sure Wandsworth continues to be one of the best areas for social mobility in the country with jobs and opportunities for young people.
Matt is also a tenant in the private rented sector and believes in the need to develop a thriving and friendly community in Nine Elms, in order to further Wandsworth's reputation as the best place to live in London!
A member of the Friends of Battersea Park, Matt looks forward to spending time in the new Nine Elms Park and is passionate about making our community as beautiful and sustainable as possible.
Cllr Will Sweet
Will has been a councillor since 2014. He’s excited to be one of your candidates, having played a role in the Nine Elms regeneration as Planning Committee Chairman. His top priorities are to ensure the area gets the investment it needs, deal with bad property managers and work with local police to tackle crime.
Will grew up in Wandsworth and was the Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, including planning for the new Nine Elms school. For work, Will advises businesses on foreign policy.
He’s married and lives near Battersea Park, where (like Matt) he loves running and spending time around the Power Station.
